Have you on the site of the flash drive driver for Win98? There are also generic, you can use.
My guess is that Win98 does not have access to the network. If so, have you thought about how to download XP drivers with floppy or CD and install it to cope with the Win98 machine?
If you do not download and install win98. Or: Download files from the net portfolio (Yahoo) and get to XP. Is this a good idea if you do have a lot.
